Back to Life as Usual....

(cycle 8, day 3)

Well we're back from Mexico and I'll post that and some pics when I have a bit more time on my hands, which may be never, but I promise I'll find the time : )

Life if going to get much busier in the coming months and I'm not sure I'm ready for it.
I'm still working on completing my courses so I have that going on.
I'm also doing work on the side that is apparently going to get quite busy. One of the contractors I often do work for got a contract to build all the houses in Viking because they are wanting to make the community a 'Green Community' and build their houses out of sustainable materials and use environmentally conscious building systems. I'm excited about it since it will help propel myself into the business and get my name out there as well as the experience I'll gain by doing the designing of the strawbale homes. But I will quite busy as they are going to start building in the very near future.
On top of that, I also have all the work we were planning on doing to the house this summer. The fence will be pushed back to next summer when we build the addition, but we'll be able to get the little projects around the house that aren't quite done finished and get around to renovating the upstairs bath. As I said, I'll be very busy.
Of course there's also our quest to become parents. Obviously it still hasn't happened yet as I'm now on a new cycle, but yesterday DH said the sweetest thing, he was thinking about what to paint the nursery! On vacation he even admitted that he wasn't doing his part in the baby making department and that he was going to step up this month and hopefully get the job done (*fingers crossed he follows through*). I was going to say that he needed to actually do something about it but he told me not to ruin his little moment so I kept quiet, but at least now he's really thinking about it instead of just going along with what I say, lol.
So hopefully I'm up for the challenge the coming months with how busy I'm going to be. I'll just have to wait and see how I do.

I PASSED!!!

(cycle 7, day 19)

i had a course last week with the safety codes council to get the last of the base competency courses (i was granted equivalency for the other two courses because of my NAIT training) to become a safety codes officer. it had been a while since i was last in a class room, 5 years, and just as long since the last time i took an exam.

the class went well. it seemed like i knew what i needed to know since everything they talked about in class i could easily find in the book and i understood everything that was said. that was until i started the exam.... I remembered reading all the questions/answers in the course book but it felt like when I went looking to check the answers, I couldn't find them. Worst feeling in the world, well not really, but it sure didn't make me feel very confident about the exam. I ended up going through all the questions and finding what answers I could and then trying to guess or remember the answers to the rest of them without cross checking. Well apparently I remembered the answers pretty well since I only got 5 wrong! Yay me!!! haha.

At least now i'm prepared for future exams while on my quest to become a safety codes officer  : P
